School of Theatre to Present "4:48 Psychosis"

Date: 10/06/08

Contact: Marc Lebovitz

Sarah Kane’s play, “4:48 Psychosis,” will be presented at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 10, 11 and 14 to 18 at Illinois State University’s Allen Theatre.  There also will be a 2 p.m. matinee on Oct. 12.  Jack Carpenter, a graduate student in theatre, will direct.

Poetic and terrifying, the journey in Kane's play is a whirlwind of treatments, medications and violence as one artist struggles to remain intact, despite the raging desire to self-destruct.  The play premiered in London more than a year after Kane’s death by suicide.

Tickets are $10 for the general public, $8 for senior citizens 60 and older and $8 for students.  Tickets are available at the Center for the Performing Arts box office from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays, by phone at (309) 438-2535 or on line at http://www.ticketmaster.com/venue/57369/
