South Asian Fiction Topic of Seminar, Sept. 26

“Resolving Differences:  The Fiction of South Asians in North America and the Caribbean” will be the topic of a presentation by Mitali P. Wong from 12-1 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 26 in the 3rd Floor East Lounge in the Bone Student Center.  The event is free and open to the public and a free lunch will be served.

Wong is a professor in the Department of English & Foreign Language at Claflin University in Orangeburg, South Carolina.  Wong is co-author of The Fiction of South Asians in North America and the Caribbean, which examines connections between the themes and methodologies of writers within the South Asian diaspora.

Wong’s presentation is a part of Illinois State University’s International Studies Seminar Series exploring topics in global politics and culture. The seminar series is organized by the Unit for International Linkages, Office of International Studies and Programs, and the Women's and Gender Studies Program.
