Richard Kimball, president of Project Vote Smart, will be the featured speaker at an Illinois State University Constitution Day event, from 12- 1 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 17, in the Bone Student Center Old Main Room.  The event, which is free and open to the public, is sponsored by the American Democracy Project.

Kimball will discuss Project Vote Smart’s efforts to compile accurate and unbiased information on the candidates seeking the presidency in 2008.  Project Vote Smart is a citizens organization that has developed what it calls a “voter’s self-defense system” that provides information about candidates in five categories: biographical, issue positions, voting records, campaign finances, and interest group ratings.  For more information visit www.vote-smart.org
