Global Review Speaker to Discuss Peace Process in Nepal

Global Review, the weekly forum sponsored by the Global Review Student Association at Illinois State University, will present guest speaker Raj Prakesh at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, speaking on “Peace Process in Nepal and Elections to the Constituent Assembly.” 

The talk, which is free and open to the public, will be in the Eleanor Kong Room in Walker Hall.

Each week when classes are in session, Global Review features guest speakers, panel discussions, alternative perspectives and critical open debates of international events and issues.  Next week’s presentation on Oct. 4 will be a screening of the movie “No End in Sight: The American Occupation of Iraq” at 7 p.m. in room 104 of Schroeder Hall.  The movie is co-sponsored with the Indy.

The Oct. 11 Global Review also will take place in Schroeder 104 and will feature faculty member Maria Schmeeckle, Sociology-Anthropology, who will speak on “Poverty, Children and Hope in a Brazilian Slum.”
