For the 11th consecutive year, Illinois State University has kept its total fall enrollment above 20,000.  The University today announced a fall enrollment of 20,104, which includes 3,145 new freshmen and 1,725 transfer students.

The freshman average ACT composite score climbed again to a historic campus high 24.2, with the high school grade point average at 3.38.

“While the freshman class is slightly smaller than last year, the average ACT score has increased by three tenths,” said Jonathan Rosenthal, assistant vice president for Enrollment Management and Academic Services. “This is a quite extraordinary increase on an annual basis and speaks to the quality of students who choose to enroll at Illinois State.”

“I am pleased that we have kept our enrollment stable while we continue to attract students with strong academic credentials,” said President Al Bowman.  “Combined with our excellent retention rates, these numbers help reflect Illinois State’s growing reputation as a top-choice institution for motivated and engaged students.”
