Illinois State Students Receive Actuarial Scholarships

Eighteen Illinois State University students will be honored with Country Scholars in Actuarial Science and State Farm Scholars in Actuarial Science at a ceremony on Friday, Sept. 14, at 4 p.m. in the Founders Suite at Bone Student Center.

The State Farm Scholars in Actuarial Science, funded by the State Farm Foundation, and the Country Financial Scholars in Actuarial Science, are for students with a grade point average of 3.5 overall and 3.7 in the major and who place in the top 20 percent overall and top 5 percent in mathematics in national standardized tests.

Students receiving the Country Scholars awards are Aaron Hillebrandt, a senior from Bloomington; and David Prevo, a junior from Gridley.

Students receiving the State Farm Scholar awards are Nicholas Baron, a freshman from Naperville; Sarah Bryant, a sophomore from Litchfield; Emily Byrnes, a freshman from Mount Horeb, Wis.; Daniel Fox, a senior from Homer Glen; Jeremy Harlow, a senior from Monmouth; Nikita Garman, a freshman from Tremont; Bryan Hollowell, a freshman from Arlington Heights; Thomas Lauren, a junior from of Mundelein;  Andrew Lewis, a sophomore from Effingham; Christine Pflueger, a sophomore from Red Bud; Anthony Pragovich, a sophomore from Lockport; Jason Rohlfs, a freshman from Emden; Gary Wierzbicki, a senior from Naperville; Katrina Williams, a sophomore from Prophetstown; and Brandon Wolfe, a freshman from Orangeville.

Jordan Thompson, a freshman from Kankakee, received the State Farm Minority Scholar in Actuarial Science award, and Emily Byrnes, a freshman from Mount Horeb, Wis., received the Orlyn Edge Scholarship.
