Northwestern University Professor and Illinois State University 1982 alumnus Rex Martin is considered one of the world’s finest tuba players and teachers of tuba and euphonium. He can be heard on more than 70 recordings with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra, and in more than 3,000 television and radio commercials.
A former student of Professor Emeritus Ed Livingston, Martin has performed and taught throughout North America, Europe and the Far East, and at 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12, will give a master class in Kemp Recital Hall at Illinois State University.
Admission is free and open to the public.
