Actors from campus and the community are invited to audition for 29 available roles in the third annual Playwrights’ Workshop, “From Page to Stage,” in the Illinois State University School of Theatre. Twelve directors will direct a dozen 10-minute plays by 12 student playwrights and 29 roles are available for teenagers, young adults, middle-aged adults and senior citizens.
Auditions will take place at 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 5, in room 214 in the Centennial West building on the south end of campus. Auditions will consist of cold readings from the plays.
The 12 plays cover a broad range of tones and subject matter, some funny, some creepy and some riveting. Topics covered include romance, marriage, violence, the impact of popular culture, war, communication, betrayal, revenge and broken dreams. The plays will be presented at 7 p.m. Nov. 14, 15 and 16 in Allen Theatre in Centennial East.
