Memorial Service for Student David Hirsch, Oct. 31

A memorial service honoring the life of Illinois State University student David Hirsch will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 31, at 5:45 p.m. near the Old Main Bell on the Quad.  The event is open to campus and community members.

A moment of silence will be observed at 5:50 p.m., followed by a bell ringing ceremony and candlelight vigil.  Those attending the service can sign sympathy cards for Hirsch’s family.  Hirsch died on Oct. 24 after being struck by a train in Normal. 

The memorial service is being organized by the Student Government Association and University Program Board.
