Glass artist Amy Rueffert will spend Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 15 and 16, on the Illinois State University campus giving demonstrations and a 6 p.m. lecture and demonstration Tuesday at the Glass House, located at the corner of Main and Willow streets in Normal.
Rueffert will give hot shop demonstrations from 1 to 4 p.m. Monday and 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday at the Glass House. She earned her BFA from Massachusetts College of Art in 1998 and pursued independent study at Ohio State University. Rueffert received scholarships for additional study at the Pilchuck Glass School and the Haystack Mountain School of Crafts.
A former artist-in-residence at Cleveland Institute of Art and San Francisco’s Public Glass, Rueffert has participated in numerous group exhibitions in galleries across the country and solo exhibitions at Vetri International Glass and the Bubba-Mavis Gallery. Her work is included in the collection of the Corning Museum of Glass, where she also taught, and she was a teaching assistant at the Haystack Mountain School of Crafts and Pilchuck Glass School.
