Alumna Berger to Talk About Humor at Work, Oct. 9

Illinois State University alumna Claire Berger ’77 will present “Humor in the Workplace: Having Fun While Getting the Job Done” on Tuesday, Oct. 9, at 7 p.m., in the College of Business Building Room 366.  The event is free and open to students, faculty and staff.

Berger, a veteran of the Second City improv theatre, has worked as a warm-up comedian during the taping of sitcoms such as Seinfeld and Friends and was a host of HGTV’s Fantasy Open House.  She is the CEO of FunnyWorks, Inc., and in her role as a “humor consultant” she speaks to corporations and organizations on how humor can be an effective tool in the workplace.

Berger will also be hosting the Dream Dorm Do-Over Big Reveal as part of the University’s Homecoming celebration on Wednesday, Oct. 10 at 5 p.m. in the Prairie Room of the Bone Student Center.  The event will showcase the winner of a residence hall room makeover.
