Criminal Justice Sciences Department Awards

Illinois State University’s Department of Criminal Justice Sciences recently recognized three students for their outstanding academic and service accomplishments.

Eric Mascari, Rockton, was named the 2008 recipient of the Criminal Justice Outstanding Community Service Award.  The award recognizes a senior with a distinguished record of both scholarship and service to the community.  Recipients have completed a minimum of 90 semester hours, at least 12 of which have been in criminal justice, and have demonstrated exemplary community service.

Stephanie Koester, Robinson, a senior in Criminal Justice Sciences, was the recipient of the Criminal Justice Sciences Departmental Scholar Award for 2008.  Koester had the highest grade point average of all Criminal Justice Sciences majors who have completed all of their coursework at Illinois State.  

Amanda Jatkowski, a senior from East Peoria, received the 2008 Criminal Justice Sciences award as a Departmental Scholar (Transfer student).  This award is given to a transfer student in Criminal Justice Sciences whose grade point average is highest among those majors who have transferred into Illinois State.
