BOT Endorses Educating Illinois 2008-2014

Illinois State University’s Board of Trustees today endorsed Educating Illinois 2008-2014: Priorities for Illinois’ First Public University and requested annual updates on its implementation.

The new strategic plan includes the following five goals:

• Illinois State University will position students to excel in a globally competitive, culturally diverse, technological and changing environment.
• Illinois State University will demonstrate excellence in scholarship, teaching and learning at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
• Illinois State University will enhance student, faculty, staff, alumni and community pride in, and allegiance to, the University.
• Illinois State will be accountable and fiscally responsible to internal and external stakeholders.
• Illinois State University will promote a healthy, safe and environmentally sustainable campus.

Educating Illinois 2008-2014 was endorsed by the Student Government Association, Academic Senate, Administrative/Professional Council and Civil Service Council.

Implementation progress will be documented on the Educating Illinois Web site at http://www.educatingIllinois.ilstu.edu. The plan will be reviewed and updated in 2011.
