Wind Energy Presentation in Uptown Normal, April 3

“Renewable Energy and the Future: Is the Answer Blowing in the Wind?” will be the topic of a presentation by Illinois State University agriculture professor Randy Winter on Thursday, April 3, at 5 p.m. at the Medici restaurant, 120 W. North Street, Normal. 

Winter’s presentation, sponsored by Illinois State’s College of Applied Science and Technology (CAST), is free and open to the public. The CAST in Focus event, which showcases research and faculty expertise in the College, will begin at 4 p.m. with complimentary hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar. 

Winter is a member of Illinois State’s Wind Energy Team, a multi-disciplinary group that provides citizens, policymakers and wind energy developers with unbiased information on the potential for wind energy production in Illinois.  The team provides basic facts about wind energy production in the state, wind data, the environmental impact of wind turbines and potential energy production output.
