Illinois State University’s School of Theatre will present the Irwin Shaw play,  “Bury the Dead,” from March 26 to 29 in Westhoff Theatre.  Curtain will be at 7:30 p.m. March 26 to 29 and there will be 2 p.m. matinees on Saturday and Sunday, March 29 and 30.

Robert Quinlan of Urbana, a master’s degree student in theatre, is directing.

Tickets are $10 for general admission, $9 for ISU faculty-staff, $8 for senior citizens and $6 for students.  Tickets are available at the Center for the Performing Arts box office from noon to 5 p.m. weekdays and prior to each performance.

“Bury the Dead,” which was first produced on Broadway in 1936, examines war and the worth of human life.  Six dead soldiers refuse to be buried, raising the question of why they died.  Shaw’s later works include the novels “The Young Lions” and “Rich Man, Poor Man.”
