BOT Approves Five Items and Seats New Student Trustee

Illinois State University’s Board of Trustees today approved a five-year academic plan, authorized an extension of the Cisco contract for hardware and software, the renewal of the Waugh Foods contract, the renewal of the master contract with the Illinois State University Foundation and approved the 2008 meeting calendar.

The Board approved the Illinois State University Academic Plan for 2007-2012, which includes the University Mission Statement, Board of Trustees Vision Statement for 2014, college mission statements and objectives, curriculum initiatives and summaries for the 2006-07 program reviews. The academic plan lists institutional priorities, which include investigating a bachelor’s degree in enterprising computing, a Ph.D. in information systems, a Ph.D. in foreign language pedagogy and a Ph.D. in global politics.

The Trustees approved a one-year extension of the current agreement with the Burwood Group for network hardware and software at a cost of no more than $950,000.

The Board authorized a five-year renewal of the contract with Waugh Foods at a cost of no more than $8 million annually. The contract will run from July 27 until June 20, 2012.

The Trustees authorized the renewal of the master contract with the Foundation for $260,000 for the 2007-08 academic year. In the 2006-07 academic year, the Foundation allocated $6,331,644 in direct support, scholarships and awards on behalf of the University.

The Board set the 2008 meeting calendar in accordance with the Open Meetings Act.
