A closing reception for the exhibition “Metal Mania,” which has been running since the beginning of December at Transpace Gallery, will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22, in the gallery at 102 W. North Street in Normal, across from its former location.
“Metal Mania” includes a collection of work by undergraduate and graduate metal students in the School of Art, and the work ranges from ornamental to sculptural, traditional to sublime. Artists include Sandra Oglesby, Kate Siriani, Whitney Bignell, Joe Mandrell, Christy Campbell, Chris Wille, Samantha Moderhock and Dianne Cinkovich.
Transpace Gallery was created by the Town of Normal and Illinois State University's School of Art to provide art students the opportunity to curate public shows, display their work, and gain experience in professional art. Regular hours are 4 to 7 p.m. weekdays and from noon to 5 p.m. Saturdays.
