Illinois State University’s Rudy Radosevich is the 2007 recipient of the Williams Outstanding Technology Service Award established by David and Kay Williams. The award recognizes an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to the University in the area of technology and service.
Radosevich, associate director for Computer Infrastructure Support Services, has been at Illinois State for 18 years, serving in various technical roles. He first worked in the College of Arts and Sciences and the Laboratory for Integrated Learning and Technology. Radosevich has directed numerous projects, including the UNIX and Windows System Team that monitors, supports and provides security for servers that support the University e-mail system; LDAP directory; Active Directory; Datastore; Exchange calendar; iCampus portal; University web server; and course management systems. He was part of the team that introduced improvements in virus and spam filtering at Illinois State.
“As the principal systems architect behind most of our systems, Radosevich has been a staunch defender of the use of dual channel redundancy, open standards and systems scalability,” said Mark Walbert, associate vice president for Academic Information Technology. “He is a shrewd buyer of server hardware and maintains hardware in good working order for longer than most systems on campus. Both of these skills help the University stretch its scarce information technology dollars.”
“I believe you would be hard pressed to find someone who cares more deeply about providing solid systems and services to the University,” said Carla Birckelbaw, director of Computer Infrastructure Support Services. “Radosevich has such a breadth and depth of experience providing technical support. I am very pleased that he is this year’s recipient of the Williams Outstanding Technology Service Award.”
