Italian Pianists are Guest Artists in March 5 Recital

Pianists Maria Bannino and Valentina De Lisi, who teach piano at the Palermo Music Conservatory in Italy, will present a program of works for solo piano and piano for four hands at 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 5, in the Center for the Performing Arts Concert Hall.

Admission is $6 for the general public, $5 for faculty-staff and $4 for students and senior citizens.   Children 6 and under are free.

Their program will include piano sonatas for two and four hands by Muzio Clementi, Franz Schubert and Francis Poulenc.

Both women were born in Italy and earned degrees in Piano at Palermo State Conservatory of Music. Bannino also earned her degree in Laws at Palermo University.  De Lisi also earned a degree in Literature and Anthropology.  As pianists, both have played as soloists and in collaboration with other musicians, and have performed at music festivals and competitions in Europe.
