Rehearsals for Illinois State University’s Civic Chorale are underway and will take place from 7:10 to 9 p.m. on Monday evenings in room 212 of Cook Hall (the Castle” on campus.
The Civic Chorale, a singing group that includes student, faculty-staff and community singers, will perform Beethoven’s “Missa Solemnis” in an Oct. 28 performance with the Illinois State University Symphony Orchestra. The Chorale also will perform in the annual “Music for the Holidays” concerts on Dec. 2.
Karyl Carlson, director of Choral Activities at Illinois State, directs the Civic Chorale. Music is provided and no audition is necessary, although previous choral experience is helpful. There is a $20 fee for community members to participate.
