Fear the Bird Shirts on Sale

The Illinois State University community can show their school spirit and qualify for Bone Student Center discounts, promotions and enter to win opportunities by buying a Bird Shirt, with the theme of “Fear the Bird.”

Shirts are on sale for $9.99 at the Barnes & Noble Illinois State University Bookstore and at the Lobby Shop in the Bone Student Center.  Anyone wearing the shirt on Fridays can get discounts on food and services in the BSC and enter drawings for an iPod Shuffle or Adobe Creative Suite, among many other prizes, starting Friday, Aug. 24.  To learn more about the promotions and discounts, visit the Web site at www.BirdShirt.ilstu.edu

“The Bird Shirt is a great way for the Illinois State University community to show school spirit while receiving great discounts at the same time,” said Kevin Martin, student body vice president.  “I am excited to see the University starting the program, which has already been offered at many other large universities.  I hope this makes us more unified like those other institutions, and I look forward to the day when all 20,000 plus members of the Illinois State community are wearing the Bird Shirt.”

Assistant to the Vice President for Student Affairs for Marketing and Communication Katy Killian said “We are excited about the opportunity to promote school spirit and tradition at Illinois State and happy that the Bone Student Center is supporting this effort through promotions and discounts on Fridays throughout the academic year.”
