Illinois State University will be the venue for the first American Association of University Women of Bloomington-Normal (AAUW-BN) Women’s Resource Expo on Friday, Sept. 7, from 3:30-5:30 p.m. in the Faculty Staff Commons in Bone Student Center.
Attorney Barbara Young will deliver the keynote address on pay equity. Young has practiced law for close to 25 years. She is a partner at Golan & Christie LLP in Chicago, practicing in the areas of bankruptcy and commercial litigation. Young graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and attended Loyola University School of Law. She is president of the Business and Professional Women of Illinois, a founding member of the Illinois Wage Hub and helped form the BPW Illinois Educational Foundation.
The Expo, co-sponsored by the University Club as part of their regular Friday discussion series, features 26 exhibitor booths with more than 30 exhibitors. Exhibitors will answer questions about law, health, banking, insurance, small business ownership, community outreach, children and family education, higher education, careers/employment and living green.
