Illinois State Army ROTC Spring Commissioning Ceremony, May 9

Illinois State University’s Army Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) will hold its Spring 2008 commissioning ceremony at 1 p.m. on Friday, May 9, in the University’s Performing Arts Center Theatre. 

Eight Illinois State cadets will be commissioned as second lieutenants in the U.S. Army during the ceremony: Jason Anderson, Plainfield; Adam Bolliger, Forrest; Elizabeth Fields, Downers Grove; Samuel Dimmick, Murrayville; Allison Dittrich, Kennesaw, Georgia; Richelle Hare, Rockford; Kristina Herriot, Sidney; and Daniel Wheatley, Colfax.  Two Illinois Wesleyan University cadets will also be commissioned: Kristian Lavinder, Great Falls, Montana, and Joel Schirding, Petersburg.

Peter B. Johnsen, Bradley University provost and vice president for academic affairs, will be the guest speaker for the event.  Illinois State and Bradley University have entered into a partnership allowing Bradley students to be commissioned through Illinois State’s ROTC program.  A similar agreement with Illinois Wesleyan University has been in place for several years.
