ISU School Psychology Institute April 25

Susan Wilczynski, executive director of the National Autism Center, will be the guest speaker at the 11th Annual School Psychology Institute at Illinois State University on Friday, April 25. 

The Institute will present a skill-based workshop on “Evidence-Based Practice and Autism in the Schools” from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. in room 114 of the Professional Development Building on campus. The workshop is free, but pre-registration is required by contacting Steven Landau, Psychology at selandau@ilstu.edu by Friday, April 18.

Wilczynski oversees the National Standards Project, updates public policymakers about evidence-based practice related to educational and behavioral interventions, develops assessment clinics specializing in the evaluation of children and adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorders and establishes the parent education and professional training agenda of the National Autism Center. 

Wilczynski has authored numerous articles on the treatment of Autism Spectrum Disorders and developed an early intervention program at the Munroe-Meyer Institute.  She also is vice president of Autism Services at the May Institute and an adjunct professor at the University of Nebraska.

 The Institute also will sponsor a research colloquium from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. for ISU students and faculty.  Wilczynski will discuss “Development of the National Standards Project” in the same room in the Professional Development Building.
