Illinois State University's Student Counseling Services has earned
re-accreditation from the International Association of Counseling Services,
Inc.
The reviewers cited Student Counseling Services Director Sandy Colbs' leadership as making "a big difference in the over-all operation of the Center." They praised Student Counseling Services avoidance of dual or confusing relationships, utilization of a privacy officer who assures HIPPA compliance, efficient computerized record keeping, commitment to diversity training and employment of a diverse staff and the impressive group therapy programs.
The accreditation team summarized Student Counseling Center strengths as:

. Policies supportive of and consistent with good clinical practice and
high professional standards
. Support of upper administration
. An effective guerrilla theatre troupe
. APA training site
. Good use of psychological testing
. Increased travel dollars and equipment funding despite difficult
