Banned Books Week Readings, Sept. 26, 27 & 28

In honor of the 25th anniversary of Banned Books Week, Illinois State University's Milner Library and Barnes & Noble College Book Store will host readings from banned and challenged books on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, Sept. 26, 27 & 28.

The readings, done by Illinois State faculty and staff and local community members, will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in front of the Barnes & Noble College Bookstore in the Bone Student Center.

A brief introduction of the selected books will cover the reasons why they have been banned or challenged. The readings will include selections from such books as The Grapes of Wrath, How to Eat Fried Worms, Uncle Tom's Cabin, Catcher in the Rye, Alice on the Outside and I, Claudius.
