Guest Oboist Recital Oct. 29 Free in Kemp Recital Hall

Guest artist and oboist Alyssa McKeithen, who in May received her doctorate from the Eastman School of Music, will present a recital with pianist Gloria Smith at 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 29, in Kemp Recital Hall at Illinois State University.

Admission is free and open to the public.

McKeithen received her doctorate in oboe performance and literature. Her master's degree in music is from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana and her bachelor's degree is from the University of Florida. She has taught at Texas Lutheran University and was on the faculty of summer music camps in Texas and Michigan. She has performed with several orchestras include the Champaign-Urbana Symphony and the Prairie Ensemble in Champaign.
