Two student organizations at Illinois State University have scheduled fund-raising events to benefit their respective charitable causes.

Fresh from being named first finalist in the Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter Partnership Award for Campus-Community Collaboration, the Illinois State University, Illinois Wesleyan University and McLean County Habitat for Humanity will be "trick or treating for change" on Halloween night, Oct. 31, throughout the Twin Cities. This is the third Halloween the group has worked on Halloween. All proceeds will go to Habitat for Humanity McLean County to defray the costs of the 12th consecutive student-built house.

On Saturday, Nov. 11, students in Professor Ken Newgren's Management and Quantitative Methods 384 class ("Leadership: Decision Making and Planning") will run a bowl-a-thon at Circle Lanes in Bloomington. The event will run from 3 p.m. to closing and is open to anyone for $5 for three games plus shoe rental. All proceeds will benefit the American Health Association.

Registration is available by contacting Amanda at aamodrz@ilstu.edu People also can participate on a walk-in basis.
