Chicago dancer and choreographer Eddy Ocampo, who is in residence on
the Illinois State University campus through Monday, will conduct a
community master class open to local dancers, from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Sunday,
Oct. 15, in room 104 in McCormick Hall. Admission is free.
Ocampo is artistic director of Forum Jazz Dance Theatre in the Chicago
suburb of Libertyville, where he also teaches at Talent Forum. He is a
former member of Gus Giordano Jazz Dance Chicago, where he was school
director of the Giordano Dance Center. Ocampo has taught master classes in
jazz dance throughout the U.S. and around the world, and was a guest faculty
member at many ballet schools, dance studios and universities.
While on campus, Ocampo is teaching in ballet and modern classes and is
setting a piece on the Illinois State Dance Theatre, with whom he is meeting
every day.
