The 2007 Student Annual art exhibition will open with a reception
and awards presentation at 5 p.m. Tuesday, March 27, in the University
Galleries in the Center for the Visual Arts. Admission is free and open to
the public.
The show will continue through April 30.
This year’s jurors were Paul Ha, director of the Contemporary Art Museum in St. Louis and Paul Young, associate professor at Parkland Community College in Champaign.
Although other awards will be announced at the reception, the 2007 Marshall Dulaney Pitcher Award has been given to Dan Mrva, a bachelor of fine arts candidate from Normal, and Diana Gabriel, a master of fine arts candidate from Hoffman Estates. Each will have a special section of the exhibition featuring their work.
Gallery hours are noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sunday and Monday, 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesdays and 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
