The Illinois State University Percussion Ensemble will present its
spring concert at 7 p.m. Sunday, April 1, in Kemp Recital Hall. Admission is
free and open to the public.
The ensemble, directed by David Collier of the School of Music faculty, will perform Paul Bissell’s “Equal Fire,” Nebojosa Zivkovic’s “Trio per Uno,” the Allegro moderato movement from J.S. Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto No. 3, Astor Piazzola’s “Oblivion,” a piece titled “the persistence of past chemistries” by Charles B. Griffin and “Mass” by John Mackey. Collier arranged the percussion for the Piazzola’s composition.
Percussion Ensemble members are Ryan Borden, Matt Boze, James Coleman, Tim Daniels, Doug Ford, Damien Kaplan, Patrick Keelan, Michael Malgoza, Sarah Mullin, Zach Oostema, Lawrence Rogers and Rachel Taylor.
