Illinois State University Provost John Presley has appointed Jonathan
Rosenthal as interim assistant vice president for Enrollment Management and
Academic Services effective July 1. Rosenthal will replace Steve Adams who
became the interim vice president of Student Affairs at the University on
July 1.
"In his new position, Rosenthal will continue to enhance Illinois State University's position as a premier undergraduate institution through enrolling highly motivated students and providing services to help them attain their college degrees," Presley said.
Rosenthal will oversee Admissions, Financial Aid, University Registrar and University College units, which includes more than 200 staff members. He has served as the University registrar, associate dean in the College of Arts and Sciences, assistant department chairperson in Foreign Languages, academic advisor and director of Undergraduate Studies in Foreign Languages and as a faculty member in Foreign Languages since coming to Illinois State in 1991.
Rosenthal received a master's degree and doctoral degree from Princeton University, a master's degree from the University of Texas at Austin and a bachelor's degree from Harvard University. He was awarded a Fulbright Fellowship to France and a Belgian American Educational Foundation Fellowship and has earned many University awards including a Distinguished Teaching Award, the Herb Sanders Award for Academic Advisement and the University Distinguished Service Award.
