Date: 01/16/07
Contact: Marc Lebovitz

The first exhibition of the new year at Transpace Gallery, 107 North Street in Normal, will be "Landtales and Fairyscapes" by master of fine arts degree students Katie Creyts and Rob Fifield of Illinois State University's School of Art.

The show opens with a reception from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 23. Admission is free and open to the public.

"Landtales and Fairyscapes" is a found-art installation piece encompassing sardonic views of today's homes and commerce using child-like means of representation. The sharp wit and nostalgic media alter Transpace into an omnicient view of the arena of contemporary life.

Information on the show is available on line at www.ilstu.edu/~jedegea, or by contacting Transpace Gallery manager Jacob DeGeal at yakeeb1@hotmail.com or by phone at (217) 473-5380
