Students in grades 3-12 are invited to participate in the annual
Students Involved With Technology (SIT) Conference held Saturday, Feb. 10 at
Heartland Community College. The event is a one-day technology conference
for students, by students, and is co-sponsored by Illinois State University,
a partner in the Bloomington Normal Education Alliance (BNEA).
Check-in for pre-registered student participants and presenters will begin at 7:15 a.m. The event runs until 2:15 p.m.

The SIT Conference will feature presentations by technology-savvy students in grades 3-12. Student presenters create their own presentation/demonstrations on topics they have developed skills and expertise in. Students present on topics such as building and maintaining computers, robotics, hovercraft, game technology, and web and software applications like video editing, internet safety, animation and web design.
Students who present at SIT 2007 are eligible to enter drawings for a SONY Playstation 3. One grand prize winner will be drawn from the 3rd through 6th grade presenters, and one will be drawn from the 7th through 12th grade presenters. Every student who presents at the conference is awarded with a presenter certificate, as well as special appreciation gifts. All SIT conference participants whether they are presenters or not, can enter contests and compete to win other great prizes during the conference.
The SIT Conference is hosted and sponsored by the partners of the Bloomington Normal Education Alliance: Heartland Community College, Bloomington Public School District 87, Illinois State University's Extended University, McLean County Unit School District No. 5, Olympia School District 16, State Farm Insurance and the Bloomington Public Library.
