"Home Remains," a photographic show exploring the elusive but ubiquitous nature of a home in transition, will open Tuesday, Dec. 12, at Transpace, the Illinois State University School of Art-funded art exhibition space in uptown Normal at 107 W. North St. Admission is free and open to the public.

"Home Remains," which is the work of undergraduate art students Christina Tapp of Washington, Ill., and Jayme Mason of Texico, Ill., utilize the power of black-and-white photography to capture the melancholy, memory and emotion of a home. The show will remain open through the holidays from 4 to 7 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and from noon to 5 p.m. on Saturdays.

Transpace was created several years ago by the School of Art, in cooperation with the Town of Normal, to provide art students with an opportunity to curate public shows, display their work and gain experience in professional art.
