The first annual Play For Olamide Bean Bags Tournament will be held
Saturday, Sept. 9, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the parking lot of the Alamo
II, 319 North St. in Normal. Proceeds from the tournament will support the
Olamide E. Adeyooye Memorial Scholarship Fund at Illinois State University.
Registration for the bean bags tournament is $15 for individuals and $20 for two-person teams. Participants will receive t-shirts and free food and will be eligible to win prizes donated by local businesses. The tournament is being hosted by the Illinois State University Student Foundation and the Alamo II.
The Olamide E. Adeyooye Memorial Scholarship Fund was established to honor the memory of an Illinois State senior who was abducted and killed in October 2005. The scholarship will be awarded for the first time in 2007, during the University's Sesquicentennial celebration.
