Bill O'Donnell, an assistant professor of photography in the School
of Art at Illinois State University, will have an exhibition of his
photography at Soho Photo Gallery in New York City opening Sept. 7.
O'Donnell, who is beginning his sixth year at Illinois State, has titled the exhibition "Home," which will run for three weeks. The photos, he said, explore the "allegory of life as a journey that eventually leads to home."
A master of fine arts degree graduate of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, O'Donnell has received a Regional Fellowship from The National Endowment for the Arts and two Artists Fellowships from the Illinois Arts Council. He also has twice been the recipient of College of Fine Arts University Research Grants. He has had solo exhibitions in the Chicago area, Washington State and in Toronto, Canada.
