As the semester progresses, so does the construction on Stevenson Hall. The installation of the west curtain wall and the trim on the exterior has been completed. Faculty whose offices are on the west wall are scheduled to move back into their offices on Sept. 21. East Moline Glass (EMG) began demolition of the south curtain wall on Sept. 8, and the south entrance has been closed to faculty and students. The entrance will re-open when the work on the curtain wall is completed.
EMG began work on the small office windows on Monday, Aug. 17, and completed the window installation on Saturday, Sept. 12. EMG, with the cooperation and help of Stevenson Hall faculty and staff, were able to complete the work two weeks ahead of schedule. Bishop Brothers is following behind EMG to make repairs to the enclosures around the windows. They have completed all faculty offices on the first through fourth floors and are working on the classrooms on all four floors.
Besides the few glass panels missing, EMG has completed the all the main entrance doors. Bishop Brothers is waiting on the hardware to complete the installation of the ADA doors at three of the four entrances. With the doors being close to finished, work on the bathrooms has increased. Tile for the first and second floor bathrooms was delivered on Thursday, Sept. 16. The installation of the tile is expected to begin on Monday, Sept. 21. The third floor bathroom walls are framed and are ready for drywall.
