Stevenson Hall faculty, staff and students have been in the midst of a major renovation project for the past two years, and there is more to come. With an additional year of renovations now scheduled for Stevenson Hall and the anticipated Turner Hall renovation set to start, a number of communication tools will be used to provide the University community with up-to-date information about the renovations and related activities.
Facilities Planning has established a team, with representation from as many different constituencies as possible, to plan, coordinate and oversee the renovation work in Stevenson and Turner Halls. Representatives on the Stevenson/Turner Hall Facility Enhancements Tactical Team come from offices that are critical to ensuring that services such as computing, telecommunications and parking continue for the faculty and staff who will be in temporary facilities during the renovations. The complete list of members of the team is included below.
Communications will include a newsletter, located at Stevenson/Turner Renovations on the Facilities Planning Web site, news releases which will be posted on the Media Relations Web site, podcasts posted within the newsletter and on the Media Relations Web site at podcasts and technical updates posted weekly at updates. The Colleges of Arts and Sciences and Applied Science and Technology will also be directly communicating with their departments.
“We wish to ensure that our campus community and the local community are aware of the major renovations that are occurring in Stevenson and Turner Halls so they can make plans based on the most up-to-date information available,” said Debra Smitley, associate vice president of Finance and Planning. “We also want to have an interactive venue for questions and answers, which will be available by e-mail at renovations@IllinoisState.edu or by telephone at (309) 438-8606.
