Four rooms in Stevenson Hall to be vacated

Before Clark Dietz Engineers and East Moline Glass can begin work on window fabrications in Stevenson Hall for the window walls on the second-fourth floor entrances, they must take field measurements. This will require 306, 336, 406 and 428 Stevenson Hall to be vacated. One of the rooms is being used as a summer classroom, and in case the University is unable to vacate, Stevenson 304 and 402 will be vacated instead of 306 and 406.

Both Clark Dietz and East Moline Glass are aware of the high priority of the project and are attempting to accommodate the University. The contractors will begin the field measurements on Monday, June 29. In order to start measuring, faculty members in the previously specified rooms will need to be packed on Thursday, June 25, and moved on Friday, June 26. Facilities Management will ensure the temporary faculty offices on the first floor will be in working condition. Faculty will be able to use the same keys, the furniture will be moved and the computers will be connected.

Installation of the new store fronts (entrance on the first floor) will begin mid-July, and an anticipated three days are needed to complete each entrance. The northwest entrance will be completed first, followed by the north entrance to the south wing due to the heavy use of these entrances. Clark Dietz and East Moline Glass are working diligently to assure shipment of the smaller office windows and installation occurs quickly. The goal is to have as much work finished as possible by the start of the school year on August 17. The contractor, Clark Dietz, and the University will work together to minimize the disruption if of the building occupants.
